…in Mexico, and proudly wearing emerald green, the perennial beauty trend this time of year. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Cabo A

People say Cabo San Lucas is a city that never sleeps. I say it’s a town where party-lovers take a siesta from about 8-to-10 pm and 6-to-10 am. During the day, vacationers explore the marina, plaza, and little shops lining the streets, the adventurous go deep-sea fishing and scuba diving, sun-lovers soak up the rays, and extreme partiers migrate to Mango Deck.

Cabo B

In the evening, they all pile into the restaurants. After that, those who love to mingle and dance, rest up and get ready for one of the world’s best block parties. The music gets cranked up après-11pm, and the fun doesn’t stop until the sun peeks over the mountains.

Cabo C

One of my favorite parts of Cabo is the marina. No matter how loud the music is, how many friendly hellos are being called out, or how much dancing is going down, the boats look like they’re peacefully resting. I had fun playing around with settings on my new camera to capture their beauty at night.

Cabo D

And here’s my new ride! Well, in my dreams:) The owner was kind enough to let me borrow his wheels.

Cabo E

I got my pinch-proof Trouvé top in Seattle and my necklace from a cart near the beach in Hawaii. So today I’m combining three countries by wearing green clothing and jewelry from America to celebrate an Irish holiday while vacationing in Cabo.

If you’re looking for some no-miss travel makeup tips, here’s a post I wrote with the help of a celebrity makeup artist who is constantly crossing the globe to give the stars their looks.

Hello my dears, it’s official. I’m off to Cabo! And I can’t wait to get the adventures started. I’ve been there before and recall what lively groups that town draws in. People were partying on the plane well before we reached Baja:) I’ll definitely keep you posted on my trip, but meanwhile I want to share an email from a reader and get your input.

Cabo

She gave me permission to do this and her question is the kind that I’d sometimes film for a Pillow Talk relationship video. I haven’t done one of those in too long, but I will soon…or at least soon-ish. If I could, I would make multiple videos a week, but since I do everything on them myself, it’s tough to fit it all in—with my regular job.

Okay, so here’s her dating dilemma: “I had a lot of serious health problems in high school and college that took up most of my time, so I wasn’t able to have much of a social life. Now I’m so thankful to be healthy, but I’m twenty-two and haven’t been on a single date. Will men be deterred by my lack of experience?”

Romance

And here are my thoughts: First of all, you should be so proud of yourself for making it through high school and college with serious health problems. It takes courage to forge on when life is presenting such challenges. And it’s a miracle that you’re now healthy. I say celebrate your health and realize that if a guy cares about you, then he won’t care about your so-called lack of experience. Seriously, what is experience? Maybe you haven’t had experience in the dating arena, but everyone has unique experiences that make that person special. A good man will cherish yours and look forward to creating new ones with you.

If any of you have more thoughts, I’m sure she’d love to hear them.

I stopped by Wolford with the idea that I would just make a short stop to pick up something on my way to an event. But how could I have thought that the word “just” could ever be attached to the word “Wolford?!” After running into Ylyana, the gorgeous store fashion expert, I was overtaken with the urge to snap pictures with her in some of our favorite pieces. Here she’s showcasing the company’s flattering leggings.

And she styled my ensemble featuring two of Wolford’s recent arrivals—an intricate black pleated bodysuit with a flowing skirt that has matching pleats. Yly tied the two pieces together with a belt.

…from Ivanka Trump. After meeting this lifelong globetrotter, I wanted to share her travel insights. She explained, “In both business and personal life, I’ve always found that travel inspires me more than anything else I do. Evidence of the languages, cultures, scenery, food, and design sensibilities that I discover all over the world can be found in every piece of my jewelry.”

Her sentiment resonated with me because I learned firsthand that traveling becomes more meaningful when a person gets immersed in the local culture. If you missed my blog post when I met Ivanka, here it is.

I got so excited about the Burberry makeup products I posted about yesterday that I decided to play around with my camera and editing effects to put together this composite image.

Burberry Magic A

I’ve been learning Photoshop, so I took a picture of my new cosmetics finds and another one of myself. Then I outlined my image and dropped it in the middle of the cosmetics pic. Don’t get too excited though. My Photoshop skills are still at the beginner stage. A friend asked if I could give her chiseled abs. I wish I had those kinds of smooth editing moves. They would help when I OD on ice cream;)

In the above image, I wore my Burberry jacket with my Burberry makeups. A girl can never get too Burberry.

Kristy Hoffman – aka a makeup artist featured in the likes of Allure magazine – is here to teach you alluring cosmetics tricks.

Burberry A

For a fresh glow, this glamour gal thinks there’s nothing better than Burberry’s Fresh Glow Nude Radiance. Blend it with your foundation for a beautiful sheen.

Burberry B

Lip Mist Blueberry No. 206 is a lip treatment and lipstick all in one. Its emollients and wild rose extract keep lips shimmering and hydrated. And this one tube can be used for both a natural and a dramatic look. Pat it on with your finger to look like you just came back from the beach or put on a second layer to go out for the evening.

Burberry C

And who says we can’t sport a little sun-kissed sparkle even in winter? That person hasn’t experienced Pink Peony Blush! Kristy lightly applied this sheer stick to my cheeks. It’s blended with 50% water so the formula has a cooling effect that reveals your skin’s natural rosiness. Kristy explained that when wearing a lipstick with a stronger hue, like mine, a girl doesn’t want to put on too much blush because it will fight with the lip.

According to popular teen romance author Sally Brandle, “A good romance should validate that none of us are perfect. It isn’t easy to find the right partner.”

How to Find Lasting Romance A

When I was young, a close family friend, who was like a second father to me, once said, “No one is perfect. When you do settle down with someone, make sure you can not only handle, but complement, his flaws. More important than knowing your partner’s strengths is knowing his weaknesses, so you can be there to help in times of need.”

How to Find Lasting Romance B

I received similar advice from an adorable couple who were childhood friends. They had been happily married for 30 years, and said a secret to their success was that they took the time to get to know one another on many levels in addition to romance. Then once they were married they continually took time to keep the spark alive.

I love this sentiment. The charming pictures in this post were taken from Momental Design.

I got this red dress for my holiday Guerlain cosmetics video where I danced in pointe shoes among giant makeup products. Once the mistletoe came down, I couldn’t bear to retire it and my Guerlain makeup set. The gown is from Discount Dance Supply and features a built-in leotard.

From the Dance Studio to the Street A

So it’s designed to dance, but you can take it from the studio straight to the streets. I’ve worn the red shimmering item to cocktail parties where it received a stream of compliments. And with the word Discount in the title, you know that Discount Dance dresses are reasonably priced.

If you’re ever in London, any performance by the Royal Ballet is a must-see. Some cinemas have even been showing films of the Company’s top performances. When I heard that Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice in Wonderland was playing at my local theater, I was one of the first in line.

Royal Ballet A

Of course, the performance was impeccable. Every company member showed off high extensions, incredibly arched feet and impressive artistry.

Royal Ballet B

The sets seamlessly changed with the choreography. Images shrunk, expanded and swirled around as the dancers intertwined with them.

Royal Ballet C

All of the performers were captivating, but Zenaida Yanowsky, who played the Queen of Hearts, stole everyone’s heart. She brought each movement to life, complete with hilarious expressions that sent the audience exploding in laughter.

Royal Ballet D

I became entranced with the Royal Ballet when they took me in one summer.

I was 17, and will always be grateful for the time I spent there, the guidance I received, and even the pointe shoes from the Company’s Freed fitter.

They are the ones that first inspired me to write a book about girls’ experiences traveling abroad. I wanted to share the best of their adventures, what they learned from them, and how they got to know and love people from other countries.

She shows up wearing almost exactly what you are and you didn’t discuss it beforehand! I was scanning through pics and landed on this one taken when Annie was in town. Upon her arrival at girls’ night, we were both donning similar black ensembles. That just goes to show that good friends think alike:)

I’m been missing this MD-in-the-making ever since she went off to another state, so I went back and re-watched our video on how to eat healthy on a budget. As it began, I was reaching into the box of Oreo cookies. But her pep talk made my hand retreat. Now I’m indulging in carrots…if you can call it that;) For those who want to see our video, here it is.

Yep, those are totally my own lashes in the below pic. Of course they’re my own, after all, I bought them;) Okay, all joking aside, sometimes when a girl is about to attend an event, she feels the need for extra lash length and thickness. But those little false eyelashes can be pesky to put on and take off. So I’ve gathered a few trade secrets for handling them from Kevianno, my friend who’s a NARS celebrity makeup artist.

False Eyelash Tips from Celebrity Artist A

Pencils aren’t just for students. Kevianno can attest to that. Before gluing on your false lashes, wrap them around a pencil for about 30 seconds. This will help mold them to your eyelid shape. When it comes time to remove those lashes, dab on some coconut oil. It’s perfect for taking off any remaining glue, hydrates your skin, and isn’t harmful even if you get some in your eyes.

Seeing someone you love go through a tough time is so hard. But sometimes it’s even harder to know what to do to help. I recently received an email from a reader who asked for suggestions to help a friend recover from the loss of a companion. She said that the more suggestions she presents, the sadder he becomes. I ran across some excellent advice from grief educator Val Walker. Normally, I focus on fun or humorous posts, but I realize that life isn’t always fun or humorous. Walker’s advice could help us bring those elements back into a friend’s life.

How to Help Someone You Love with a Loss A

Walker explained, “We are such a fix-it society, we think we are supposed to help the person feel better, instead of just listening… Alternatively, we often avoid people who are vulnerable, or in need because we feel uncomfortable with their emotions.” Walker says that the best support is to 1) Reach out in person. Don’t text, email, or FB message. Your tone of voice, eye contact, and touch are all important. 2) Listen to whatever your friend thinks is important to say. 3) Share an appropriate happy or touching memory. 4) Think what you can give to the person that will live on, that will comfort and inspire him into the future.

How to Help Someone You Love with a Loss B

It’s been my experience that sometimes just doing something with the grieving person that he wants to do is the best medicine. The day we shot the finale for my music video, But I Do, the fiancé of one of the dancers had just died in a freak accident. I was ready to cancel the shoot, but he did not want that. He loved to dance. Finishing this project with people he cared about who cared about each other was what he wanted to do. When the shoot ended, he told me that it had been the best possible grief therapy.

…is the one that looks most beautiful on you. This is my philosophy, and I learned that Coco Chanel, who I love, would agree! According to her, “The best color in the whole world is the one that looks great on you.”

Coco Chanel

This spring, the colors black and yellow aren’t just for bumblebees. The entire spectrum of yellow hues, black, and white are on-trend. But I think Coco would have thought that no trend should be followed unless it’s hot on you. So if any it color complements your features, I say go for it.

Thank you for asking me to do a dance tutorial to Jessie J’s WILD. I’ll admit I’m an adventurous girl, just not exactly wild! But for you, in this video I’m trying to pull out an inner wildness that I didn’t think existed:)

In honor of Travel Thursday and Jessie J, I’m revealing a Florida hot spot that made her list. This babe recently posted the below roller-coaster pic on Instagram saying, “I didn’t get time to go on it so I took a picture of it and sulked. Orlando Universal Studios.” This theme park has more than 25 incredible rides which it describes as ranging from “state-of-the-art 4-D attractions to exciting water rides to some of the world’s most pulse-pounding roller coasters.” When you add to this mix Florida’s beaches, this just might be the perfect place to go for vacation or spring break.
