Tune in to Toronto

September, 4, 2014

I just emailed Steve, director of the Toronto Independent Film Festival, famously known as “a headline event for micro and no-budget films” running in tandem with TIFF. We became friends when I attended the festivals last year. I passed on my wish to clone myself so I could cover my responsibilities state-side and still hop a plane to Toronto 2014:) Last year, I was honored to have my short film But I Do featured opening weekend and win Best Music Video!

Right now, I’m glued to my computer pumping out some writing assignments, but in spirit I’m mingling with the TIFF crowds.

Here’s a little video that I created at last year’s extravaganza.

And if you are in Toronto right now, let me tell you, dining is an integral part of the festival experience. From morning ‘til night, attendees rush about between back-to-back events and premieres. To make it to everything with the energy to enjoy it all, I’d feast at an early breakfast knowing that I probably would not be able to sit down and eat again until a late dinner. If your schedule is anything like mine, you’ll need to make every meal count. One of my favorite restaurants was Kit Kat Italian Bar & Grill. It’s close to the action, family run, savory and Hob Knob Central—with a four-story tree growing next to the kitchen and extending past the roof!
