Here is a clip from my upcoming story about love beyond borders. It features a Western New York man who sold everything he had to move just 25 minutes from his girlfriend in Canada. Then Covid-19 struck, and the border between their countries closed. They have not been able to see each other for several months as their lives have become “emotional roller coasters,” but their bond has remained strong. This story is coming up on Spectrum News Buffalo. #Love #Covid #Pandemic #Reporter #WesternNewYork ...
Buffalo is teeming with history, including one elaborate building designed in the late 1800’s by Louise Bethune, the first female American architect. Decades later, the structure’s extraordinary features were hidden by new owners who wanted a sleek, modern look. Today, I’m putting together a story about efforts to turn back the clock on that edifice and its adjacent companion, including the fascinating events that occurred inside those buildings. The feature will air on Spectrum News tonight. #PreservationWork #Historic #Restoration #Reporter #MMJ #NewYorkState ...
I’m editing together another Day in The Life video about my work as a reporter for Spectrum News. This one is a scrumptious story on cooking Bananas Foster, and other dishes involving liquid nitrogen. Later today, I’ll post it. #Cooking #LiquidNitrogen #Reporter #MMJ #Journalist #TVNews ...
When this picture was taken, I lived on a street filled with neighbors from a wide variety of religious beliefs. For Christians like me, Easter commemorated the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For all of us, it was a new beginning. Our gardens were awakening from their winter’s rest. We left anonymous treats on each other’s porches – like this cake I made – and included notes signed, “Secret Easter Bunny.” As always, the world was not free from contention and confusion, but because of our love and respect for each other, our neighborhood was a port in the storm. In preparation for that first Easter, Christ said, “Peace I leave with you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid [John 14:27].” I wish you all a wonderful Easter. #Love #Easter #Spring #EasterSunday ...
Although Broadway productions at Buffalo’s opulent Shea’s Performing Arts Center are on a pandemic-induced intermission, the theatre is teaming up with Disney to bring students in grades six through twelve a virtual surprise. This picture was taken while I was filming my story about it, which will air tonight on Spectrum News Buffalo. #Broadway #Stage #Covid #Pandemic #Reporter #Anchor #Journalist #TVNews ...
The Covid-19 pandemic has produced unexpected heroes―grandparents who sacrifice to provide essential childcare and homeschooling for their grandchildren. One Western New York grandma even turned her living room into a classroom for remote learning. She is being featured, along with baby Lillian (pictured), in my story airing on Spectrum News Buffalo this evening. #Grandparents #Love #RemoteLearning #TVNews #Reporter #Anchor ...
Every day as a TV journalist is exciting─from reporting on breaking news with only a moment’s notice to covering stories that run the gamut from heartwarming to heartbreaking. That’s why I love my job! #TVNews #Anchor #Reporter #MMJ #NewsLife ...
