This blog began in 2010 as part of the publisher’s promotional materials for my travel book, The Single Girl’s Guide to Meeting European Men. The book rose to #1 on Amazon’s Best-Sellers List within two weeks of publication, and is still selling. The blog has been expanded to cover my other pursuits.

Want to Get Your Dance On?

February, 5, 2015

This is definitely not the first time I’ve written about Rizzmic, the dance-fitness program headquartered in the Pacific Northwest. Can I help it if I love the Rizzy creators? They’ve combined infectious, easy-to-follow choreography with vivacious instructors. On any given day, they teach routines that you can adapt to your favorites in the Top 40. Cory, on the left in the pictures below, is one of the founders, and Chris, a Disney dancer, is in the process of becoming an instructor.

Dancers at all levels love Rizzmic, with its variety of pop styles taught by encouraging, high-fiving instructors. Although technique is taught, the feel is not that of a technical studio class. Frankly, I haven’t taken one of those in years. My Rizzmic classes are in Seattle and include everyone from professional dancers to people overcoming injuries, and those who haven’t previously danced a day. One of the most fun elements of Rizzmic is their theme parties. You can stay updated about them by keeping up with their Facebook page.

If you didn’t get a chance to see Cory, Chris and me dancing to Jessie J’s BURNIN’ UP, here it is. We had the best time filming this.
