Connecting with People
This morning, I woke up recalling how three years ago on Black Friday, I sold out at a Borders’ book signing for The Single Girl’s Guide to Meeting European Men. My book had only been out about two months, and in the first two weeks had hit #1 in its genre. It quickly sold out at all five Manhattan Barnes & Nobles too. I loved meeting people at both stores. I was sad when Borders had to shut down, and B&N struggled to stay afloat competing with e-retailers. There’s something special about being in a bricks and mortar store, surrounded by books and people, and hearing their stories…. That’s one of the reasons why I wrote my book. I loved listening to the true romantic adventures of traveling girls, and wanted to share them with others.
