FRIENDS AND GUEST SPEAKERS

September 17, 2026

This week has reminded me of how thankful I am for friends near and far. I was so excited to reunite with the talented media professional, Anne Parisianne. Professor Austin Bogues invited us to speak to his Harvard University graduate journalism capstone class.

Even though we lived on opposite sides of the world, with Anne in Australia and me in the United States, we were previously assigned as peer group members in Prof. Bogues’ course, Race, Media, and News Writing. We also got to co-moderate a discussion with Alissa J. Rubin, a Pulitzer Prize winner and senior Middle East correspondent for The New York Times.

Anne and I have stayed in touch over email. We both really enjoyed speaking with Prof. Bogues’ students, who asked insightful questions. They are fortunate to have such a terrific professor guiding their work. I will always cherish the friendships I have formed in my graduate program.
