CHERRY BLOSSOM SEASON

Here is a picture I took while spending time with my family enjoying Seattle’s breathtaking Yoshino cherry trees. These attractions, around 90 years old, fill the University of Washington’s Quad. Blossoms rain petals with each breeze. Everyone loves admiring the trees as sunlight sparkles through their branches. Dusk is my favorite time to take in these sights. Then a vibrant blue sky offsets the clusters of blossoms.
As part of my journalism graduate program, I am taking courses in photography and cinematography to enhance the television news stories I create. Practicing what I have learned about low-light photography from my Harvard professors in such a magical setting was surreal. While there, I met photographers who spent all day and into the night capturing this landscape.
