Comedic Travel Host Video – Fiesta Barcelona-Style!

June, 22, 2011

If you’re visiting Barcelona now, you won’t want to miss the beach party at The Festival of San Juan, which lasts from sunset on June 23rd to sunrise on the 24th…that is unless you’re not a fan of firecrackers, dancing, and huge, happy crowds. If that’s the case order in dinner and snuggle up with a good book, because the whole city will be ablaze!

This was the second Elle Woods-esque travel host video that I posted. It’s fun and gives some inside info on the fest. Even though many visitors think of this event as just a crazy romp, there is meaning behind it. This night signifies renewal. Thus, the festival features a variety of ceremonial activities, including dipping in the sea to signify making a fresh start. Some have begun a new tradition that I witnessed. They told me that if you write three wishes on three separate pieces of paper and burn them in a festival bonfire, they will come true before the next Summer Solstice. So get your wishes ready and hit the beach for major fiesta-ing! In my book, I give more details on the event.

Wish I were there! Love all of your videos! Could you make another one on Beverly Hills? “Glamorous” is one of my faves!

  2. Katherine Chloé Cahoon says:

    Thanks! I’d be glad to:)

  3. Camille says:

Love your videos! Love your travel host character! And I love your wardrobe! Clothes and accessories are trendy and so perfectly fit the locations. Your sarong is even the color of the ocean. How cool is that?!!! People who say your travel host character has some things in common with Elle Wood’s law school app video are right. It’s a compliment! Legally Blonde is a hit…with a Broadway musical. You’re adorable…positive, upbeat, even have a dimple in your smile! And those tips…who would have thought of going to breakfast after the fest and then hitting the beach and turning your sarong into a towel…how fun!!

  4. Kate says:

Great style tips with the sarong. I love how you always give fashion tips on what to wear while in foreign countries. The tips in your book about buying some local clothes while in Europe are great, and so true. I can attest to that from past experiences. I really wish I could fly to Spain right now, that festival sounds so fun. You always know where to go to have a great time. I am definitely bringing your guide next time I go to Europe so that I can remember all of the “hottest spots” that you describe.

  5. Randy says:

Anybody contacted you about developing a TV realty show, etc???

  6. Taylor says:

I love these videos! They are like the travel version of Sex and the City, only better! 🙂 The Festival of San Juan would be so amazing. Hopefully I’ll get to go someday and put some of your advice to use! Thanks for sharing another great post.

  7. Katherine Chloé Cahoon says:

Thank you to everyone who posted nice comments on my blog! Randy, in answer to your question, I’ve received several queries about developing TV shows based on my book. Some producers are interested in reality and others want fully-scripted shows. I appreciate their interest, and I’m grateful for an excellent manager who is helping me with this.

  8. Louise says:

Barcelona is so much fun! I went there about two years ago and can’t wait to go back!! I didn’t make it to the Festival of San Juan but did go down to Majorca for a few days, there are gorgeous beaches, parties and a bunch of hot spanish men!!
